NAMM is currently running the following courses - "FIXING MONOLITHS & LAWN TYPE MEMORIALS" The course is designed to prepare candidates for the successful completion of the NAMM City and Guilds Land Based Services Assessment and will include a comprehensive study of the NAMM Code of Working Practice and how it relates to the British Standard BS8415. An in-depth theoretical induction as to what will be expected on the NAMM City and Guilds Land Based Services Assessment day will include Health & Safety aspects leading to the generation of professional Risk Assessment documentation. The course also includes practical advice and guidance as to what will be expected on the NAMM City and Guilds Assessment day and provide a comprehensive understanding of accredited ground anchors and how they are applied etc. The course fee is £200.00 + VAT per candidate. "INSPECTION AND SAFETY ASSESSMENT OF MEMORIALS IN BURIAL GROUNDS" One full day course to be held in close proximity to a cemetery. This course has been compiled around current HSE guidelines and will focus on a 'Risk Assessment' based approach. All aspects of memorial assessment will be covered in the course from understanding different types of natural stone and the way in which it changes with time, through to memorial construction and how this might impact decisions on safety. The important area of 'making safe' will also be included. The morning will be spent in the classroom studying in-depth theory and the afternoon will be spent putting the theory into practice. Where students wish to obtain a formal qualification in the 'Inspection & Safety Assessment of Memorials', and not all do, the training will be followed at a later date with an examination both written and practical. This examination will last for half a day and successful candidates will be awarded the formal qualification. The course fee is £300.00 + VAT per candidate (including lunch).
