Quality Assurance for the Memorial Industry
NAMM is the only trade association available to memorial masons. It works hard, supporting practicing and traditional masons, and masonry businesses.
NAMM supports you and sets the industry standard with its Code of Business Practice & Code of Working Practice, free to members and free to view on the NAMM website.
Regional meetings allow you to meet colleagues in your area who work under the same conditions and face the same challenges as you.
You have a voice through Regional meetings and a Voting Delegate to represent you on NAMM’s General Council and at the annual conference and AGM.
NAMM news and regular mailings from Head Office update you and keep you informed of developments in the world of memorial masonry, changes in legislation, new products and services, technical information, other member businesses, meetings and training courses, and much more.
NAMM’s website is being developed to provide ways in which you can advertise and promote your business.
Head Office is only a phone call away and will ensure a prompt reply to your need for technical support, health and safety, and legal advice, arbitration, or any other enquiry.
NAMM members are approved to display the NAMM logo on all advertising materials – membership is an investment in supporting and preserving our skills, high standards of workmanship, and professional service.
Stoneguard memorial insurance is available to your clients and now covers subsidence as well as damage and also provides a fair commission incentive.
NAMM offers a substantial cost reduction to members applying for any of its training courses. NAMM City & Guilds Assured Training courses are currently available in Fixing Monolith and Lawn Memorials and SIAM (Safety Inspection and Assessment of Memorials) with more courses in the pipeline, such as fixing full grave memorials, hand-cut lettering, grit blasting, gilding, raised and inlaid lead lettering, etc.
RQMF – is a national register of qualified memorial fixers and is operative throughout the UK, including Northern Ireland.
The RQMF provides a central source of information for Burial Authorities to ensure the competency and standards of those fixing memorials. It confirms that Public Liability, Employer’s Liability, Health and Safety policies, and Risk Assessments are all in place and current.
RQMF uses City and Guilds accredited assessors to ensure correct methods of memorial fixing are maintained and the required standards are met. NAMM retail membership includes listing on the RQMF at no extra cost for those that meet the criteria.
The Association is forward-looking and always working hard to find ways of operating more efficiently for its members while remaining true to its traditional values and principles. You are invited to get involved locally in the planning of your Regional meetings and seeing to it that local needs are met. Your views are also welcomed by those who hold national office. We are all volunteers and are not an elite!
The vision is for a lively and active Association that conducts its affairs honestly and with transparency for the good of its members and for the continued raising of standards of craftsmanship, workmanship, and service.
We actively promote NAMM to the public, assuring them that when they engage a member company, they are guaranteed the highest standards in the trade.
