Quality Assurance for the Memorial Industry

Questions to ask your Mason

Before commissioning any memorial consider the following assurances provided by NAMM members.

NAMM is the National Association of Memorial Masons established in 1907 to establish quality standards to Memorial Masonry. NAMM are a “Not for Profit” organisation whose aim is to protect the interests of the bereaved and promote excellence in craftsmanship and services provided by our members. NAMM work with Burial Authorities, Ministry of Justice and the British Standards Institute to ensure good working practices are established and to maintain and develop memorial industry standards. If your mason is a member of NAMM they will have agreed to adhere to NAMM’s Code of Working Practice and Ethics.

NAMM provide a free arbitration service which the bereaved can use in the rare case that clients are not satisfied with the finished memorial or the services received from a NAMM member. Once informed of a complaint NAMM will act as a liaison between the member and their client to determine a fair and justifiable solution to amicably resolve the issue leading to the complaint. NAMM members must abide by the decision of the arbitration and complaints committee.
